Hello from the Shores of Lake Superior!

I’m Amanda – Photographer, Social Media Consultant and full time Encourager. I specialize in Lifestyle, Boudoir + Wedding photography, while also providing trainings and education for small businesses to ramp up their social media presence. I’m all about turning those followers into paying customers and helping you find (and use!) the tools you already have to succeed!

I’m a Duluthian, born and raised, with deep roots on the Hillside. You can usually find me out adventuring with my Husband, Andrew, and our beloved golden retriever, Cooper. We love to hike along Chester Creek and explore the North Shore, while supporting our favorite local breweries, eateries and shops.

Seven years ago, I was miserable in my corporate healthcare role and watched as others around me went to work every day loving their jobs – while I dreaded going to mine. I had received the degree (and loans to prove it!) landed my first salary position and was doing what I thought I was “supposed” to do to succeed – but I still felt lost. At age 23, with my first big paycheck in hand, I bought a dslr camera to use as a creative outlet. The details are hazy, but what started as a fun pastime soon turned into a crazy little idea: What if I could go to work, every day, loving what I did? Nervous + scared of the unknown, but determined to try, JaneCane Photography was born.

And I’ve never looked back.

Since 2012 I’ve been capturing beautiful love stories + wedding days, preserving family legacies through heirloom images and empowering women with boudoir sessions and Beyonce dance parties. I am a huge supporter of community, and truly believe that we succeed most when we raise others up around us.
